Sheep / Goat project worksheets.
Dates and receipts show where each project number came from. Record each weekly weight, feed purchase, and expense.
Open weight logWhat you’ll need
- A separate dated weight log for each project animal
- Feed, bedding, equipment, entry, and show-supply receipts
- Project identification labels that do not expose private youth information
- The current sheep or goat record and official fair instructions
A dated sheep or goat weight row
- May 8: 45 lb
- May 22: 57 lb
- 12 lb gained over 14 days
- 12 / 14 = 0.86 lb per day
Label the species and animal clearly in your own records. Do not combine two animals in one gain interval.
Weight log
Plot weigh-ins and see how the gain changes.
Project expenses
Keep purchases and costs in one record.
Average daily gain
Check the gain between two weigh-ins.
Feed cost
Add up the feed from your bags and receipts.
Questions for your advisor
- Does the program require a sheep record, a goat record, or another official form?
- Which project costs and show results belong in that record?
- Where should required treatment and withdrawal records be kept?
